Mrs Jennifer Wood BSc MA MIfA
Jennifer studied archaeology at Cardiff University followed by postgraduate training at Southampton University, gaining an MA in Osteoarchaeology in 2001. She has worked continuously in commercial archaeology following academic study, both as a project officer and as a human and faunal remains specialist, before becoming an independent specialist in 2008.
As an osteoarchaeologist, Jennifer has a wide publication history, including client reports, journal articles and contributions to monographs. This work has included regional and nationally recognised projects such as Heathrow Terminal 5 and the Channel Tunnel Rail Scheme. Recent work in the Yorkshire region include multi-period landscapes such as the Iron Age and Roman settlements and cemetery from the Ganstead to Asselby pipeline and prehistoric landscapes including burnt mounds in North Yorkshire from the Pannel to Nether Kellet pipeline. Previous notable projects in the East Midlands include the regionally important Roman settlement and saltern at Wygate Park in Spalding, as well as the major prehistoric Wetland research scheme at Washingborough.

Healing misaligned fracture of a pig tibia
- The zooarchaeology of the Lincolnshire fenland, including husbandry practices and utilisation of the wild resources within the dynamic landscape.
- Horse Breeding and Ranching in the Iron Age/Romano-British Period
- Burial Practices for infants and children within the late Iron Age and Romano-British Period
